- He Said I’m Not Worthy

Description
Li Wenshui is nothing like his name, which translates to “warm water.” Instead, he’s like boiling water—scalding and turbulent, leaving no room for approach. He’s selfish, shallow, materialistic, vain, and loves to boast and show off. It seems every detestable trait a person could have can be found in him. People often say he’s good for nothing except having a pretty face. His mother ran away, his father remarried, and his stepmother called him unlucky. Meanwhile, his younger half-brother was cherished and spoiled, receiving everything he could possibly want. Growing up in such a suppressive and toxic environment twisted Li Wenshui. He refused to accept his fate and wanted to fight for himself. He deliberately approached Liang Jin, the wealthy young master his younger brother secretly admired. With careful scheming, he managed to catch Liang Jin’s attention. Everything that was bound to happen eventually happened. But when Li Wenshui sought a stable relationship, Liang Jin’s gaze seemed to say: Li Wenshui, you’re not worthy. In Liang Jin’s eyes, Li Wenshui—who actively sought him out and flattered him—was selfish, greedy, and insatiable. Yet he pretended to be innocent to please Liang Jin. Liang Jin despised such shallow gold-diggers. The only reason he got involved with Li Wenshui was due to a trivial bet with his indulgent friends: How long could someone like Li Wenshui, with no rewards given, hold onto his so-called “love”? Liang Jin casually agreed to the wager. To everyone’s surprise, Li Wenshui truly stuck it out for an extended period without asking for a single thing in return. During this time, Liang Jin discovered a different side of Li Wenshui—a resilient and stubborn side that evoked his compassion. For the first time, Liang Jin genuinely wanted to protect someone. This social experiment, meant to toy with the humanity of a poor man by testing his endurance, ended up ensnaring the wealthy man, Liang Jin, instead. But by then, Li Wenshui had already fled, broken and scarred. When they met again, Liang Jin wanted to talk about love. This time, Li Wenshui dropped the pretense and gave up entirely: “Love? It costs 200,000 yuan per minute to talk about feelings.” Li Wenshui is like a dandelion seed—tiny and insignificant, drifting wherever the wind takes it. But once it touches the soil, it digs in with all its might, roots deeply, and grows with unyielding effort. — A Showy, Materialistic, Resilient, Pretty Bottom x A Cruel, Playboy Aristocrat Top

My Thoughts on He Said I’m Not Worthy
First Impressions
"He Said I’m Not Worthy" dives headfirst into a world of celebrities, businessmen, and complex relationships. The premise is intriguing: a protagonist down on his luck and a male lead seemingly destined for a wife-chasing crematorium. It's a classic setup, promising angst, reconciliation, and hopefully, a satisfying resolution. The sheer number of tags – from "abandoned children" to "aggressive characters" – hinted at a story packed with drama, and I was eager to see how it all unfolded.
What Works Well
The core of the story, the dynamic between the MC and ML, is undeniably compelling. The "wife chasing crematorium" trope is a guilty pleasure of mine, and when done well, it can be incredibly satisfying. The idea that the MC has harbored feelings since school adds a layer of depth and vulnerability to his character, making the eventual reconciliation all the more poignant. The author clearly has a knack for creating characters you want to root for, even when they're making questionable decisions.
Areas of Concern
While the story is engaging, I did find a few elements that held it back from reaching its full potential. The pacing felt a bit rushed, especially during the ML's pursuit of the MC. Given that they're only 24 and the MC's long-standing feelings, I felt the reconciliation could have been drawn out more, allowing for deeper emotional exploration. Additionally, the sheer number of supporting characters sometimes made it difficult to keep track of everyone. Some characters felt underdeveloped and easily forgotten, which detracted slightly from the overall narrative. The ML's OP (overpowered) nature also felt a little too convenient at times, simplifying conflicts that could have been more complex and engaging.
Final Verdict
"He Said I’m Not Worthy" is a flawed but ultimately enjoyable read. The central relationship is captivating, and the story delivers on its promise of drama and romance. While the pacing and abundance of characters could be improved, the emotional core of the story shines through. If you're a fan of the "wife chasing crematorium" trope and enjoy stories with complex characters and high stakes, this novel is definitely worth checking out. I'd give it a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars.
