It's a story about a hardworking college student (MC) who falls for a seemingly cold and aloof rich heir (ML) after the ML unknowingly helps his comatose sister. The novel explores their relationship as they navigate misunderstandings, social status differences, and personal insecurities.

First Impressions

Initially, I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy this. The "cold ML" trope can be a hit or miss for me, and the early chapters definitely leaned into that. I was worried the ML would be too robotic or unlikeable. However, I decided to stick with it, and I'm glad I did.

One of the strongest aspects of this novel is the character development. The ML's initial coldness is explained and, eventually, softened as he confronts his own paranoia and insecurities. The spicy scenes are well-integrated into the story and don't feel gratuitous.

I did have some concerns about the MC's willingness to endure mistreatment in the early stages of the relationship. It made me question his self-worth and boundaries, and I wished he had shown a bit more self-respect in those moments. Also, the ML's suggestion that the MC "sell his body" was definitely inappropriate and a low point in his characterization.
