My Thoughts on A VIP as Soon as You Log In
"A VIP as Soon as You Log In" had a really interesting premise that drew me in, but ultimately, it didn't quite live up to its potential. While it has some redeeming qualities, a few key issues kept me from fully enjoying the experience.
First Impressions
The initial chapters were promising. The idea of a blacksmith MC with past-life memories navigating a world of superhumans felt fresh, and I was eager to see how Kang Shin-Hyuk, or "Anvil," would forge his path. The interdimensional chatroom aspect also intrigued me, adding a unique layer to the story.
What Works Well
The early stages of the MC's growth were compelling. Watching him use his blacksmithing skills and past-life knowledge to gain power and create artifacts was satisfying. There are glimpses of a unique world-building concept with the Hero Universe and the integration of crafting into a modern dungeon setting. The author's intent to explore the theme of 'destiny' also added a layer of depth. I also appreciated the author's attempt to balance the story with male and female characters, and not making every female character a heroine.
Areas of Concern
Unfortunately, the story suffers from a few significant drawbacks. The pacing felt incredibly rushed, with the MC's rapid progress sometimes feeling undeserved. While he's supposed to be a blacksmith, his focus quickly shifts to fighting, making the blacksmithing aspect feel like a mere plot device for power-ups.
The harem aspect is a major sticking point for me. The female characters often seem overly eager and their interactions with the MC feel forced and unrealistic. This can detract from the overall plot and make the romance feel unearned.
There were concerns about the translation quality, with some readers finding the dialogue confusing and the descriptions lacking. This made it difficult to fully immerse myself in the story. Finally, I found that the MC becomes too reliant on the system and administrator, hindering his character development and making him seem bland and passive. The ending also seems rushed, as if the author ran out of steam.

Final Verdict
"A VIP as Soon as You Log In" has an interesting premise and some enjoyable moments, but ultimately falls short due to pacing issues, a poorly executed harem, and inconsistent character development. While it may appeal to those who enjoy a fast-paced, power-fantasy with a crafting element, I found that the story lacked depth and nuance. I'd recommend approaching this novel with tempered expectations.
