What Works Well
The novel truly shines in its exploration of love, sacrifice, and the clash between personal desires and worldly responsibilities. Hua Qian'gu's unwavering devotion to Bai Zihua, even in the face of immense suffering, is both admirable and heartbreaking. The second half of the book is where the narrative kicks into high gear.
