The premise is undeniably intriguing: a JSDF convoy, complete with naval ships, marines, and helicopters, finds itself transported to a fantasy realm. The initial setup is exciting, and I was eager to see how a modern military force would adapt to a world of knights, dragons, and magic. The early chapters definitely grabbed my attention with the sheer novelty of the situation.

What Works Well

The author's attention to detail when describing real-world weaponry is a definite plus for military enthusiasts. It's clear they've done their research, and that adds a layer of authenticity to the action sequences. I appreciated the effort to ground the fantastical elements with realistic military procedures and hardware. The concept of the story is solid, offering a fresh take on the isekai genre by focusing on a large-scale military deployment rather than a single individual.

One of my biggest issues was the lack of a central, well-developed protagonist. It made it difficult to truly invest in the characters or feel emotionally connected to their struggles. The plot, while interesting, suffered from pacing issues. Important events, like first contact with a fantasy kingdom, felt rushed, while lengthy explanations sometimes bogged down the narrative. The translation also felt a little rough around the edges.
