I dove in expecting a fairly standard revenge story with a heavy dose of romance. What I found was... well, a bit more complicated.
What Works Well
The initial chapters, though rough for the protagonist, set the stage for a satisfying karmic turnaround. The idea of seeing wrongdoers get their just deserts is definitely a major draw. I found myself enjoying the intricate ways the villains' lives unravel, especially as the world seemed to conspire to support the MC. It's definitely a story where the "good guy" gets rewarded, and in a world where that doesn't always happen, it can be a refreshing change of pace. I also appreciated the focus on the supporting cast. The story isn't solely about the MC's perspective, and that gives a broader view of the events unfolding. I found myself invested in the fates of several of these characters. The romance aspect, while not the primary focus, is also quite sweet.
