Description
Hojou Akito is a second-year high school student. He’s not particularly noticeable in class. It’s the usual morning classroom scene. But Akito alone knows the hell that will come after this. The entire class is about to be transported to another world. And every time Akito dies, he finds himself looping back to the classroom on the morning of the starting point. With each loop, Akito grows stronger. However, his classmates have no memory of the other world. Therefore, when they face danger, they show completely different sides of themselves. Some panic, some tremble in fear despite their usual bravado, some abandon their friends whom they claimed were most important, and there are even those who use others as shields. Akito is searching for the conditions to escape this loop. He has realized that the survival of certain classmates is one of the conditions. But the events that unfold in each loop are not always the same. Will Akito be able to break free from the loop this time?

My Thoughts on Return by Death: I Know the True Nature of All Classmates
I dove into "Return by Death: I Know the True Nature of All Classmates" with a healthy dose of anticipation. The premise – a protagonist reliving a summoning event with the knowledge of countless past loops – immediately grabbed my attention. Who doesn't love a good time-looping narrative?
First Impressions
The initial chapters were intriguing. We're thrown into a world where our protagonist, burdened by past failures and betrayals, is trying to navigate a familiar yet dangerous situation. The potential for strategic planning and character development seemed immense. However, I quickly noticed some inconsistencies that made it harder to fully invest in the story.
What Works Well
The concept of a "return by death" mechanic is always appealing, and I think the author does a decent job of setting the stage. The idea of a protagonist burdened by the knowledge of future events, forced to relive the same scenario repeatedly, is inherently compelling. There's a lot of potential for exploring the psychological toll of such a situation, and the story hints at this in places. I also appreciated the glimpses into the personalities and hidden agendas of the classmates. The world-building, while not incredibly detailed, provides a solid foundation for the adventure.
Areas of Concern
My biggest issue, and one that seems to be shared by other readers, is the protagonist's inconsistent behavior. For someone who's supposedly experienced countless loops, he makes some surprisingly naive and questionable decisions. There are moments where he seems to forget his hard-earned knowledge and reverts to a more generic, inexperienced character. This lack of consistency can be frustrating, as it undermines the core premise of the story.
I also found myself questioning some of the character interactions. At times, the protagonist's reactions felt out of sync with his supposed backstory. Instances of him becoming flustered over seemingly trivial things created a disconnect between his past experiences and his present actions.

Final Verdict
"Return by Death: I Know the True Nature of All Classmates" has an interesting premise and some genuinely engaging moments. However, the inconsistent characterization of the protagonist and the occasional plot contrivances hold it back from reaching its full potential. While the world-building and underlying concept are strong, the execution needs some refinement to create a more believable and consistent narrative. I'm cautiously optimistic that the story will improve as it progresses, but currently, it's a mixed bag.
