Description

This decision immediately made it difficult for me to connect with her.

Honestly, finding positives was a challenge. Some readers appreciated the lightheartedness and the basic adventure formula: new place, problem, OP magic solution, repeat. If you're looking for a quick, undemanding read, this might scratch that itch. The concept of charm magic and its implications also held some promise, though I feel it wasn't explored to its full potential.
Areas of Concern
My biggest issue, mirroring the sentiments of many readers, is the main character's lack of emotional depth and, frankly, her unlikeability. Her decision to prioritize her own convenience over the well-being of those she supposedly cares about is jarring. I struggled to sympathize with her, especially when the story attempts to elicit sympathy later on.
The repetitive nature of the plot also became tiresome. The "MC goes to new place, solves problem with magic" formula quickly loses its charm (pun intended). Furthermore, the male lead, Jeb, seems to be a point of contention. His persistent advances, despite being rebuffed, border on creepy. It's also annoying that he doesn't reveal who he is.
