A world where the [Demon King] was defeated by a [Hero] that came from another world. People carelessly forgot about their fear of the [Demon King] and of monsters, living in peace. In a forgotten and run-down cave in the mountains, a new monster that should not have been born was given birth. The monster’s name was the [Black Ooze]. It was nothing exceptional other than its black color, an ordinary slime. However, this slime had the special characteristic of being able to take the abilities of the living things it swallowed. It preyed on an insect that had paralytic poison, as well as other animals. Following that, it attacked a human, obtaining his knowledge and [Desire]. Before long, the monster established its target as the female mage that came to explore the cave. This world still wasn’t aware.

My Thoughts on Inside the Cave of Obscenity
"Inside the Cave of Obscenity" is, without a doubt, a novel that knows exactly what it is and doesn't shy away from it. This is a dark fantasy with heavy adult themes, and it's crucial to go in knowing that. If you're easily disturbed by graphic content, this probably isn't for you. But if you're looking for something that pushes boundaries and doesn't pull any punches, keep reading.
First Impressions
My initial reaction was definitely one of shock. The premise is simple: a black slime monster in a post-demon king world. But the execution is anything but. The story dives headfirst into some seriously messed up territory, and it's clear from the start that this isn't your typical power fantasy.
What Works Well
I was impressed by the world-building and the surprisingly compelling narrative that unfolds. Many readers praised the character development, even amidst the explicit content. The slime itself, as the protagonist, is strangely fascinating. Its motivations are driven by survival and growth, which gives it a unique perspective compared to your typical "horny MC" in similar genres. It's a dark, twisted kind of intelligence, but it's there. The multi-POV storytelling adds depth, giving the "prey" dimension and backstories. There's a genuine effort to create a monster ecology and a world that feels disturbingly real. The writing is well-done, and the translation is also quite good, which elevates the experience.
Areas of Concern
The repetitive nature of the plot was a recurring concern. While the initial shock value is captivating, some readers felt that the story devolves into a cycle of capture, violation, and rescue, especially in later volumes. Also, some found it difficult to connect with a slime protagonist, feeling the story leaned too heavily into "netorare" territory.

Final Verdict
"Inside the Cave of Obscenity" is a niche novel that won't appeal to everyone. It's dark, disturbing, and unapologetically explicit. However, if you're prepared for its content, you might find yourself surprisingly engrossed in its twisted world and the unusual journey of its slime protagonist. I would recommend it with a strong caveat: know what you're getting into before diving in. I'll rate it a solid 3.8/5.
