Description

This web novel is definitely... something. It's a wild ride from the start, and while it has its charms (pun intended, given the MC's skill), it's not for everyone. Let's dive in.
First Impressions
Okay, the first few chapters are intense. They heavily focus on the MC, reincarnated as a baby, acquiring skills through... well, let's just say it involves a lot of breastfeeding. This is a major sticking point for many, and honestly, it was a bit much for me at first too. The ecchi elements are dialed up to eleven, and the plot feels secondary. However, I pushed past this initial weirdness, and I'm glad I did.
What Works Well
The story does get better! Once the MC ages a bit, the plot starts to develop. There's an intriguing mystery surrounding his parents, a potential past-life connection with a childhood friend (who may or may not be a reincarnated demon lord), and the MC's social awkwardness is genuinely relatable. The author does a good job of balancing the humor with more serious, emotional moments. The characters, especially the women in the MC's growing harem, get some decent backstory and development. I also appreciate that the MC's "charm" skill, which initially comes across as mind control, is something he actively tries to avoid using as he matures. His struggle to overcome his social anxiety and form genuine connections is compelling.
Areas of Concern
The early chapters are a significant hurdle. The breast fetishism is very prominent and can be off-putting. Even later on, while toned down, it's still a recurring theme. The harem aspect is also quite strong, and it can feel a bit unbelievable how easily women fall for the MC. Some find the initial focus on breast milk and skill acquisition repetitive and lacking in substance.

Final Verdict
Commushou no Ore ga... is a flawed but ultimately enjoyable read, if you can stomach the initial ecchi overload and appreciate a harem story with some genuine heart. The plot picks up, the characters develop, and the MC's journey is surprisingly engaging. It's not a masterpiece, but it's a fun, albeit quirky, isekai adventure. I'd recommend giving it a shot, but be prepared for a very unique experience.
