What Works Well

The novel truly shines in its character development, particularly with Cheng Lang. He's not your typical cold-hearted protagonist; his genuine care for others drives his actions. Watching him help the abused protagonist, Shen Huaiyu, find his footing and build a career was incredibly satisfying. The way Cheng Lang supports the other "cannon fodder" characters, like Meng Tianye and Jin Huaiyuan, giving them opportunities to pursue their dreams, added so much depth to the story. I especially loved how the author wove in the Senxi Milk Tea business, a clever venture that perfectly suited Shen Huaiyu's talents. Cheng Lang's witty personality and gift of the gab also made him a compelling character to follow, and his antics in the entertainment industry provided plenty of laughs. The romance between Cheng Lang and Qin Mu is also a highlight. It subverts typical overbearing president tropes, with Qin Mu's clinginess stemming from deep-seated insecurities. Their relationship is portrayed as a power couple built on mutual respect and understanding.
