Description
The business bigshot who covered the sky with one hand, Zhao Yao, died of an illness. Once he opened his eyes, he returned to the age of 23 when he was discharged from the hospital after a car accident. He was pushed in a wheelchair into a meeting where the family was fighting for power. Facing the Zhao family’s fighting, Zhao Yao moved to a comfortable position and watched the farce. “You are free to do as you please.” In his last life, he was so powerful but he died of illness. In this life, he had no intention of entering the Zhao family’s bottomless family business. Facing a new life, Zhao Yao thought of the advice from his psychologist in his previous life. “Mr Zhao, perhaps you need to fall in love?” Mr Zhao had been single all his life so he placed an order to buy highly rated reference books, including ‘The Guide to Love.’ He went through them one by one with the attitude of reviewing a 10 billion yuan project. “Step one, become a rich man.” Zhao Yao frowned slightly. “So simple?” After a while, the stars of a performing arts company shone, the performance of a live streaming company was rising and so on… Zhao Yao, who was still single, asked his partner in a distressed manner, “Pei Mingzhan, have you ever been in a relationship?” Pei Mingzhan’s gaze was deep. “It is simple. I’ll teach you.” Later in the hotel’s business room, Zhao Yao finished reading the yellow book and casually shouted, “Pei Mingzhan, how are you?” Pei Mingzhan calmly closed the notebook, his voice slightly heavy. “I’m fine.”

Full Level Bigshot Only Takes the Career Path Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator
My Thoughts on Full Level Bigshot Only Takes the Career Path
"Full Level Bigshot Only Takes the Career Path" promised a relaxing, slow-burn romance with a capable protagonist, and for the most part, it delivered. I went into this novel expecting a light-hearted read, and that's exactly what I got, although there were a few aspects that kept it from being a complete home run for me.
First Impressions
The premise is definitely intriguing. Our MC, after a taxing previous life fighting for his family's inheritance, gets a second chance and decides to pursue a more laid-back existence, focusing on love instead of cutthroat business. I was immediately drawn to the "salted fish" MC, someone who's competent but intentionally avoids unnecessary stress. The reverse of the usual entertainment novel tropes, with the MC as the businessman and the ML as the actor, was also a nice touch.
What Works Well
The slow-paced romance is a major highlight. The development from strangers to friends to lovers felt natural and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the MC's earnest efforts to understand romance, even going so far as to consult online guides. The ML is portrayed as incredibly gentle and supportive, which I found endearing. His patience in helping the MC open up and navigate his emotional baggage was a definite plus. The side characters, especially the netizens, added a lot of flavor to the story. Their comments and interactions were often hilarious and wholesome, making the online platform scenes quite entertaining.
Areas of Concern
While the slow pace was generally a positive, it sometimes felt too slow. There were moments where the plot meandered, and the focus shifted too frequently to side characters and minor business dealings. I also found the MC's emotional detachment a bit difficult to connect with at times. While his past experiences explain his guarded nature, it occasionally made him feel somewhat robotic. The ML, while patient and supportive, sometimes came across as overly calculated, which detracted from the romance for me. Also, the constant online posts and fan comments sometimes felt excessive and repetitive.

Final Verdict
Overall, "Full Level Bigshot Only Takes the Career Path" is an enjoyable, if somewhat uneven, read. The slow-burn romance and unique premise are definite strengths, but the pacing issues and occasional blandness of the characters hold it back from being truly outstanding. If you're looking for a relaxing and low-stakes story with a focus on character development and a gentle romance, this might be right up your alley. I'd recommend it with the caveat that patience is key, and the payoff might not be as explosive as some readers might expect.
