First Impressions
The premise immediately grabbed my attention: a double reincarnation with a female lead determined to change her fate. I was intrigued by the idea of a FL who isn't necessarily driven by revenge, but rather by a desire to avoid past mistakes. The early romance and childhood friends dynamic sealed the deal for me. I was ready for some delightful antics!
What Works Well
The characters are definitely a strong point. Shen Lan Chi, the female lead, is refreshingly straightforward. I really appreciated her directness and how she actively pursues Lu Qi Yang, the male lead, from the get-go. Their humor is spot on, and their interactions feel genuine, like a couple who've known each other forever. The side characters are also well-developed, adding depth and richness to the story. I especially enjoyed the author's attention to detail in giving almost all characters a development arc. The plot, while not overly complex, hits the right notes. The balance of drama, romance, and political intrigue is well-managed, creating a satisfying narrative.
Areas of Concern
While I mostly enjoyed the story, I can see where some might find the pacing a bit off. The time it takes for the FL and ML to marry can feel drawn out. Also, I felt that I wanted more about Shen Yan. She seemed to have main character potential, but we didn't see enough of her story.
