This novel, "The Lady's Facade was Ruined," has been quite the enjoyable ride! With a blend of comedy, romance, and a touch of mystery, it kept me entertained from beginning to end.

The premise immediately grabbed my attention: a male lead, Huo Cheng, reborn and determined to understand why his wife, Shen Wanying, supposedly killed him in his previous life. The initial setup had me expecting a revenge plot, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a story focused on understanding and love. It’s a refreshing twist on the typical rebirth narrative, and I was eager to see how it would unfold.

What Works Well

The dynamic between Huo Cheng and Shen Wanying is definitely the heart of the story. I particularly enjoyed the "fluffy" high school romance. Huo Cheng's unwavering love for Shen Wanying, even after his past-life demise, is endearing. He's supportive and accepting of her true self, helping her break free from the expectations placed upon her. Shen Wanying, in turn, is portrayed as genuinely kind, reciprocating his feelings and standing by him during his own personal struggles. The mystery surrounding Huo Cheng's death adds an intriguing layer to the otherwise lighthearted plot. The author does a great job of weaving clues throughout the story, keeping me guessing until the very end. The eventual reveal of the true culprit was a satisfying twist that tied everything together nicely.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the novel, I do have a couple of minor criticisms. The pacing felt a bit rushed at times, particularly towards the end. With only around 50 main chapters, some plot points felt underdeveloped, and I would have liked to see a bit more depth in certain areas. I also felt that the ending was a little too convenient, wrapping everything up a little too neatly.
