My Thoughts on The Demon General of Earth (♀) Was Ridiculed as “The Weakest of the Four Heavenly Knights”, but After She Decided to Quit the Demon King’s Army and Lead a Slow Life, She Was Forced to Live With the Exiled Hero (♀) … Also, for Certain Reasons, They Got Married.
This title is a mouthful, but the premise definitely hooked me. A "weak" demon general seeking a peaceful life? Forced into marriage with her former enemy? Sign me up! After diving in, I found a story with a lot of heart, but also a few early stumbles.
First Impressions
My initial reaction was mixed. The beginning throws you right into Eldora's trauma and subsequent forced relationship with the hero, Yuri. I can see how some readers might find this initial setup jarring, even infuriating. Eldora just wants to be left alone, but circumstances, and perhaps some questionable writing choices, conspire against her.
What Works Well
Despite the rocky start, the story finds its footing. The core relationship between Eldora and Yuri is genuinely compelling. I appreciate the slow-burn romance and the focus on character development. It feels like the author is taking their time to build a believable and heartwarming connection between these two very different women. The "enemies to lovers" trope is well-executed, with neither character sacrificing their core personality in the process. I also found the light, simple plot to be a refreshing change of pace. It's a story that doesn't take itself too seriously, and that's part of its charm.
Areas of Concern
The initial chapters are definitely a sticking point. Eldora's lack of agency and the way she's essentially railroaded into her situation might rub some readers the wrong way. Also, the pacing can be slow, and updates seem infrequent, which can be frustrating for those invested in the story. Finally, some secondary characters didn't quite land for me, but they didn't detract too much from my overall enjoyment.

Final Verdict
Despite its flaws, "The Demon General of Earth (♀)..." is a worthwhile read, especially if you're a fan of yuri romance and slice-of-life stories. The character development is strong, the romance is sweet, and the overall tone is light and fluffy. Just be prepared for a potentially irritating start before the story truly blossoms. I'm cautiously optimistic and eager to see where the author takes these characters next.
