However, he woke up when he should have died, and when he grasped the situation, he became a baby! ? He thought that it was a reincarnation, but he do not know the reason why he remember his previous life. Shi ni Modori, Subete wo Sukuu Tame ni Saikyou He to Itaru Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

My Thoughts on Shi ni Modori, Subete wo Sukuu Tame ni Saikyou He to Itaru

"Shi ni Modori, Subete wo Sukuu Tame ni Saikyou He to Itaru" (which I'm just going to call "Shi ni Modori" for brevity) presents an interesting premise: a protagonist who gets a second chance to right past wrongs. After diving in, I found myself with mixed feelings, appreciating some aspects while feeling let down by others.

First Impressions

The initial arc definitely grabs your attention. The idea of the MC immediately tackling the source of his previous life's misfortune is a bold move. It sets the stage for significant changes in the timeline and creates anticipation for how his relationships will evolve. I was hooked by this proactive approach.

What Works Well

The impact of the MC's actions on the future is a compelling element. Seeing how his choices ripple outwards, altering his relationships and the world around him, is genuinely engaging. The manga adaptation seems to have resonated well with readers, which speaks to the strength of the core concept and potentially the visual storytelling. The MC is also described as being more "normal" than other MCs, which I find really refreshing.

Areas of Concern

I have to admit, the later arcs seem to lose some of that initial spark. I felt that the shift to a school setting felt jarring, and the characters started to feel a bit flat. The story also seems to rush through the plot points, which can make it difficult to fully invest in the narrative. I can see why many readers felt the characters lacked depth and personality as the plot progressed.

Final Verdict

"Shi ni Modori" is a mixed bag. The initial concept and the MC's proactive approach are definitely strong points. However, the shift in tone and setting, coupled with underdeveloped characters and a rushed plot, ultimately holds it back. If you're looking for a quick read with an interesting premise, it might be worth checking out, especially if you enjoy the manga. However, be prepared for a potential drop in quality as the story progresses. Overall, I'd say it's a decent read with potential, but it doesn't quite live up to its initial promise.
