Description
Sylphia Harvest is a decorated Saint. She is praying on behalf of Marianne, who is supposed to bear the title of Saint, while Marianne enjoys “making memories of her bachelorette”. (I hope it doesn’t anger the spirits…) If a natural disaster occurred due to the wrath of the spirits, Sylphia would be executed as a false Saint. That was the rule. One day, the spirits descend on Sylphia, who prays diligently without knowing how to pray. “The wrath of the spirit is finally upon us!? Execution?!” “Eh?!” Sylphia becomes a true saint and leads the land to abundance with the help of the spirits. Marianne, on the other hand, is not satisfied with the situation, and her attempt to use the spirits inadvertently provokes their anger.

My Thoughts on She Was Supposed to Be a Decoration Saint, but She Seems to Have Awakened to Her True Power
I recently finished reading "She Was Supposed to Be a Decoration Saint, but She Seems to Have Awakened to Her True Power," and I have some thoughts. It's a fairly quick read, hitting many classic shoujo fantasy tropes, but with a few quirks that both helped and hindered my overall enjoyment.
First Impressions
The premise immediately grabbed me. A "fake" saint using a selfless, hardworking girl as her stand-in? Count me in! I was eager to see how Sylphia, our main character, would navigate this unfair situation and eventually come into her own. The initial setup felt promising, hinting at political intrigue and a satisfying power dynamic shift.
What Works Well
The core strength of this story lies in Sylphia's character. She's genuinely caring and devoted, and it's easy to root for her. The author does a good job of portraying her selflessness and how she quietly shoulders the burden of the "decoration saint's" responsibilities. I also appreciated the devoted love interests that start to gather around her as her true power awakens. The romance aspect, while not the main focus, adds a sweet layer to the narrative. The idea of spirits playing a role in her rise to power is intriguing, adding a supernatural element that sets it apart from similar stories.
Areas of Concern
However, I did find some aspects a bit lacking. The plot felt somewhat rushed, and the resolution of conflicts often felt too easy. The spirits seem to swoop in and resolve issues a little too conveniently, which diminishes the sense of struggle and tension. While Marianne is set up as a villain, her comeuppance feels somewhat anticlimactic, and I wished there was a bit more depth to her character and motivations. I think that the story could have been fleshed out a bit more to give the characters greater depth and make the stakes feel higher.

Final Verdict
Overall, "She Was Supposed to Be a Decoration Saint, but She Seems to Have Awakened to Her True Power" is a decent read, especially if you're looking for something light and fluffy. Sylphia's endearing character and the promise of a satisfying power awakening are definitely its strong points. However, the somewhat simplistic plot and easy resolutions might leave you wanting more. I'd recommend it as a casual read, especially if you enjoy shoujo fantasy with a focus on a kind and selfless protagonist.
