Description
When the heroes announced the start of their journey to defeat the Demon Lord, it caused a great commotion. Amidst all this, a merchant tries to take advantage of the opportunity to make a profit. On the way to Andersen, a town where people, goods, and money gather, a female warrior arrives to save the merchant from a gang of thugs. Seeing this as a business opportunity, the merchant immediately begins negotiations with the warrior. He tries to sell her an expensive blue dragon sword. However, the female warrior has no money, and so she proposes to fight a duel with her own body on the line for the blue dragon sword. No way. There is no way that a weak merchant can win against a strong female warrior! However, the female warrior’s body is voluptuous and sensational. The warrior asks again, “Will you accept the duel?” Then the words spill as if it came from the merchant’s loins. “Alright. I’ll do it. Let’s duel!” And so begins the merchant’s journey, full of feminine woes, all to secure huge commissions! This is a full-length adventure fantasy story centered on a traveling merchant, with female warriors, priestesses, sometimes female students, Heroes and even Demon Lords joining the action!

My Thoughts on Profession, Merchant
Okay, let's dive into "Profession, Merchant." With a premise that seems to blend fantasy adventure with slice-of-life business dealings, I was intrigued. However, after looking at what others are saying, my excitement has been tempered somewhat.
First Impressions
The initial concept of a protagonist navigating a fantasy world through the lens of a merchant is definitely appealing. The tags like "clever protagonist" and "determined protagonist" painted a picture of someone resourceful and engaging. The idea of childhood friends and promises added a layer of potential emotional depth.
What Works Well
Honestly, finding universally praised elements proved challenging. The core idea of a merchant protagonist in a fantasy setting still holds promise in my opinion. The potential for clever negotiations, resource management, and building a business empire in a magical world is inherently interesting.
Areas of Concern
This is where things get tricky. A recurring theme seems to be the portrayal of the main character. The user reviews suggest a protagonist who is far from clever or determined, instead being someone easily taken advantage of and lacking agency. This apparent lack of backbone clashes sharply with the "confident protagonist" tag.
The portrayal of female characters also raises concerns. If they are as underdeveloped and one-dimensional as some suggest, it would significantly detract from my enjoyment. Strong character relationships are vital for me, and if the interactions are primarily exploitative, it's a major red flag.

Final Verdict
Ultimately, "Profession, Merchant" sounds like a very risky read. The core concept has potential, but the execution seems to fall short. If you are okay with the issues brought up in the reviews, then give it a shot, but I'm going to have to pass on this one.
