Description
Lin Mu rescued a Samoyed. Capable of eating, smiling, has a high IQ. Picks up anything you teach him quickly, a good helper around the house. The only thing was that he doesn’t bark nor wag his tail. Lin Mu took a ham sausage and coaxed for the thousandth time, “wag your tail, and this ham sausage is yours to eat.” The Samoyed raised his eyes impatiently, and with a single shake of his tail, shook out nine. Lin Mu: …… F*ck. Afterwards, the fox that did not wish to reveal his name, Mr. Yan Xuanjing, said in an interview: “Now I regret, I deeply regret. At that time, I shouldn’t have pretended to be a dog to take advantage of him, shouldn’t have touched him, rubbed against him, eaten his food and slept in his bed. Now I have a home that I can’t return to and a wife I can’t sleep with, I regret, deeply regret.”

Non-Human Sub-district Office Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator
My Thoughts on Non-Human Sub-district Office
"Non-Human Sub-district Office" promised a fluffy, funny, and heartwarming read, and for the most part, it delivered. I dove in expecting a lighthearted escape, and while there were a few bumps along the way, I mostly enjoyed my time in this world of demi-humans and fox spirits.
First Impressions
The initial chapters were definitely intriguing. The premise of a young graduate stumbling into a government office filled with non-humans is unique. I quickly became invested in the main character's journey of discovering his lineage and navigating this strange new world. It definitely has a "Natsume Yuujinchou" vibe, which is a big plus for me.
What Works Well
The comedic elements are a definite highlight. I found myself laughing out loud at the antics of the characters, especially the ML and his dad. There's a lot of humor derived from the clash between human and non-human customs, and the author does a great job of creating absurd and hilarious situations. The side characters are also fantastic and add so much to the story. The ginseng baby, in particular, is a scene-stealer! I found myself invested in their individual stories and how they intertwined with the main plot. I also appreciated that the MC wasn't overly naive or a "white lotus" type. He has his own biases and flaws, which made him feel more relatable and realistic. The ML, while sometimes a bit clueless, is also incredibly sweet and protective.
Areas of Concern
While the story is generally lighthearted, some found the plot meandered without a clear direction. I can see that. At times, I wished there was a stronger sense of purpose driving the narrative. Also, the romance between the MC and ML could have been more developed. While their relationship is sweet, I wanted to see more emotional depth and intimacy between them.

Final Verdict
Overall, I'd recommend "Non-Human Sub-district Office" if you're looking for a light, fluffy, and funny read with a touch of the supernatural. While it's not perfect, the charming characters, comedic moments, and heartwarming themes make it an enjoyable experience. Just be prepared for a plot that meanders a bit and a romance that could use a little more development. I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
