Okay, so I dove into My Exes Are Everywhere expecting a fun, possibly chaotic, ride, and it definitely delivered on the chaos! The premise alone – a protagonist with seven exes scattered across multiple realms – is enough to pique anyone's interest, especially when you throw in elements of xianxia, comedy, and a touch of tragedy. I went in blind and was pleasantly surprised.
What Works Well
The author, Ji Moyao, is clearly skilled at crafting engaging scenarios. I was particularly impressed by the unique structure, where the protagonist's past lives aren't presented in chronological order. This kept me guessing and added layers to the overarching mystery surrounding Qiao Xuan's existence. The main character himself is a comedic force, and his attempts to dodge his former flames were genuinely entertaining. I also appreciated the romance between Qiao Xuan and his master.
