My Thoughts on Just Loving You
"Just Loving You" promised a sweet slice-of-life romance, and while it delivered on some aspects, it stumbled in others. The premise, a blossoming romance between two girls in a school setting, immediately drew me in. I'm always a sucker for cute shoujo ai stories, and the "multiple POV" tag suggested we'd get a deep dive into both characters' feelings.
First Impressions
Initially, the story felt charming. The everyday school life setting was well-crafted, and I could easily picture the characters navigating their daily routines. The build-up of the initial attraction was quite well done.
What Works Well
The cuteness factor is definitely there. The author excels at portraying the tender moments of discovery and affection between the two leads. The multiple POV is cleverly used to build tension. When it works, it really works, and it's a fun story to read.
Areas of Concern
However, I did find myself getting frustrated with the characters' choices. The plot seemed to rely on unnecessary angst and avoidance, which detracted from my overall enjoyment. I found the characters' actions to be somewhat silly at times, and it took away from the overall story.
