Description
──A strong shock to the head. This is my only memory, and the reason why is that I have no prior memories is because I have amnesia. I woke up in my hospital room, and when some visitors came to visit me, I realized something. I have three girlfriends. Each of my three girlfriends is unique and attractive in her own way. Asuka Minato, a childhood friend who always takes care of me. Saki Arisugawa, a charismatic model in the same class, and Hina Fueno, an introverted otaku junior with a small-animal-like appearance, who was proclaiming herself as a fan of mine for some reason (?) I have three girlfriends, I have no memory of my past, and my school life begins with a state of unbelievable anxiety. The ‘me’ in the past. What in the world did you do──?!

My Thoughts on It Seems That I, Who Have amnesia, Have Three Girlfriends
Alright, let's dive into "It Seems That I, Who Have amnesia, Have Three Girlfriends." The title alone definitely piqued my interest, and I went in hoping for a fun, albeit potentially trope-filled, ride.
First Impressions
The amnesia setup is, admittedly, well-worn territory. However, the twist of the protagonist waking up to three girlfriends vying for his affection definitely puts a unique spin on things. Is it a genuine harem situation, or are the girls perhaps playing a game? That central question immediately grabbed my attention and kept me reading. The initial mystery surrounding his past and the true nature of his relationships with these girls is compelling.
What Works Well
The premise is undoubtedly the strongest aspect of this novel. The comedic potential of the amnesiac protagonist navigating his complicated love life is definitely there, and the story does deliver on some lighthearted moments. I also appreciate that the protagonist seems proactive in trying to resolve his problems and regain his memories. This "heroic" quality, as some might call it, makes him more engaging than a purely passive character. The focus on the protagonist caring for others, especially as an abandoned child himself, is a nice touch that adds some depth.
Areas of Concern
While the initial premise is interesting, I do feel the character development needs some work. The girlfriends, while beautiful and devoted, could benefit from more distinct personalities to make them truly memorable. I also found the initial antagonist to be somewhat simplistic in their motivations, lacking the nuances that would make them a truly compelling threat. The translation is also a bit rough around the edges. It's understandable, but can occasionally make it difficult to fully immerse oneself in the story.
Final Verdict
"It Seems That I, Who Have amnesia, Have Three Girlfriends" has a lot of potential. The amnesia-harem premise is intriguing, and the protagonist's proactive nature is a plus. However, there's room for improvement in character development and translation quality. If the author can flesh out the characters and refine the writing, this could become a genuinely enjoyable read. As it stands, it's an average start with the potential to become something more. I'll be keeping an eye on future developments.
