Description
‘Oh, I’m so tired of this… It’s been three years since I was forced into a political marriage with my husband, who is five years younger and doted on his childhood friend. It’s not like I love my husband, but I really don’t like the bad atmosphere in the house. I make efforts to talk to him, but my husband’s responses are as weak as ever. He doesn’t treat me poorly, but I work hard at my job in the royal palace, I work hard at my duties as the consort of the marquis, I’m considerate of the marquis household’s servants, and I’m mindful of my husband and his family.’ This is a story about a young man who, after trying and trying and trying so hard, one day suddenly decides, ‘I’m done trying.’ Now, how will his husband react…?

My Thoughts on I’m Going to Stop Fussing Over My Husband
"I’m Going to Stop Fussing Over My Husband" promised a fluffy, light-hearted romance, and while it delivered on some fronts, I found myself a bit conflicted by the end. It's a quick read, perfect for when you want something undemanding, but it definitely left me wanting more depth.
First Impressions
The premise is undeniably appealing: a protagonist, Finn, who's done with pouring all his effort into a marriage where the other party, Albert, barely seems to notice. I was immediately drawn in by the idea of Finn finally prioritizing his own well-being and seeing how Albert would react. The initial setup had a lot of potential for angst and eventual heartwarming reconciliation.
What Works Well
I did appreciate Finn as a character. He's grounded and mature, and I liked that he had a clear sense of his own worth. His decision to stop chasing after Albert felt justified and empowering. Some readers mentioned appreciating the side characters, particularly Albert's parents, who seem to be the only ones with any sense. The novel also does a decent job of creating a European-esque aristocratic setting, which adds to the overall charm. The initial concept of the ML reflecting on himself and his behaviours was promising, though I feel like the execution left something to be desired.
Areas of Concern
My biggest issue, and it seems I'm not alone here, is the pacing. The story felt rushed, and the resolution felt too easy. Albert's sudden change in behavior and the speed at which Finn forgives him felt unearned. I found the ML's initial actions difficult to excuse, and his reasoning for ignoring Finn for so long felt flimsy. I also struggled with the consistency of the ML's character; his sudden shift from cold and distant to warm and affectionate felt jarring and unconvincing.

Final Verdict
"I’m Going to Stop Fussing Over My Husband" is a cute, short read that's easy to consume. However, the rushed pacing, inconsistencies in character development, and somewhat unconvincing forgiveness make it hard for me to give it a glowing recommendation. It had the potential to be great, but ultimately falls a bit short. If you're looking for a quick and fluffy read with minimal angst, this might be up your alley. But if you prefer more depth and character development, you might want to look elsewhere. I'd give it a 3 out of 5.
