Description

The premise is certainly intriguing: a protagonist who dies unjustly, is reborn into a new identity, and enters the palace to seek revenge. The initial chapters drew me in with the promise of palace politics and a determined female lead. I was eager to see how Rujin would navigate the treacherous world of the imperial harem using her skills in fragrance.
What Works Well
Many readers praised the intricate plot and the well-developed world. I agree that the author does a great job of creating a believable and engaging ancient Chinese setting. Rujin herself is a compelling character, calm and intelligent, and I found myself rooting for her as she climbed the ranks within the palace.
