Description
There are Six Saviors in this world. A Sage of spellcraft, a healing Saint, a Swordmaster, a Magical Archer, the resourceful War God, and…the all-powerful Hero. The Hero wields strength suitable to be called the world’s strongest, especially since the Hero has been trained since childhood by the other five. On the day that the Hero turned 15…he betrayed the world and went over to the Demon King Army’s side. Not because he was brainwashed, not because he was kidnapped, nor even did he surrender to overwhelming strength… His reason was simple…「I mean…they treat me better over there.」 He gets to eat delectable food, sleep on a luxurious bed and bathe in a massive tub, on top of being friendly with the adorable maids, kind Big Four, and the warm Demon King. Compared to life on humanity’s side filled with severe training and constant life-threatening battles, life as a Demon King Army freeloader is pure bliss. Rejecting humanity, the bright and fun-filled life of the world’s strongest freeloader begins!!

Ex-Hero, Now Freeloader Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator
My Thoughts on Ex-Hero, Now Freeloader
"Ex-Hero, Now Freeloader" presents an interesting premise: a ridiculously overpowered hero, used and abused by his own side, finds refuge with the "enemy," a group of demon lords who offer him a life of leisure and, dare I say, actual human connection. I've delved into the available chapters, and here's what I've gathered.
First Impressions
Initially, I was drawn in by the potential for comedic gold. The idea of a hero accustomed to saving the world now struggling with the mundane aspects of everyday life, all while being ridiculously strong, had me chuckling. The early chapters definitely deliver on that promise, setting up a lighthearted and somewhat absurd scenario.
What Works Well
The interactions between the ex-hero and his new companions are a definite highlight. The misunderstandings that arise from his lack of social skills, coupled with his immense power, create some genuinely funny moments. I especially enjoyed the dynamic with the holy sword; the hints of guilt and concern she harbors for the hero add a layer of depth to what could have been a purely comedic relationship. The novel also seems to avoid repeating jokes too often, which is a huge plus in a genre that can easily fall into that trap. The premise of the hero being rescued by those he rescued is also a good one, and makes sense with the story.
Areas of Concern
While the humor is enjoyable, I do worry about its long-term sustainability. The "OP hero trying to be normal" trope can easily become repetitive, and there's only so much you can do with that concept before it starts to feel stale. Also, while the protagonist's naivete can be funny, it borders on being a "dense protagonist," which can be a major turn-off for some readers. The plot is nothing too impressive, but it does not drag the novel down.

Final Verdict
Despite my concerns, "Ex-Hero, Now Freeloader" is a fun and engaging read, at least for now. If you're looking for a lighthearted fantasy with plenty of humor and don't mind a potentially dense protagonist and harem elements, this might be worth checking out. However, keep in mind that the long-term appeal of the story hinges on the author's ability to keep the premise fresh and avoid falling into common genre pitfalls. I'm cautiously optimistic and will continue reading to see where it goes.
