Ancient Godly Monarch...it's a web novel that's been sitting on my "to read" list for a while now, and after finally diving in, I can see why it's earned both praise and criticism. It's a xuanhuan story with a lot of familiar elements, but also some unique twists that kept me somewhat engaged.

It felt different enough to pique my interest, and I was eager to see how the protagonist, Qin Wentian, would develop. There was a strong start, and I felt the story was going to be good.

The plot felt generic, relying too heavily on familiar xuanhuan tropes. The villains were often cartoonishly arrogant, and their motivations lacked depth. The MC's dialogue also felt arrogant at times, which was odd.
