The premise is intriguing: a woman named Gu Ying, reborn after a horrific life, seeks to avenge herself and find happiness. I was immediately drawn in by the potential for a cunning protagonist dismantling her enemies.
What Works Well
Despite some reservations, there are aspects I appreciated. Gu Ying, though not an OP genius, is refreshingly human. Her struggles feel real, and her attempts to navigate a treacherous society are compelling. Several people mentioned that they liked how she doesn't immediately succeed at everything, making her more relatable. I also found the male lead, Zhao Changdu, to be a complex character, even if his initial actions are, shall we say, problematic.
