"Yellow Diamond" promised a mature romance set against the backdrop of school life, and I dove in eager to see what it offered. As a fan of the yaoi genre, I'm always on the lookout for stories that explore the complexities of love and relationships with depth and sensitivity. This one definitely had some interesting twists and turns!
First Impressions
The initial chapters painted a picture of childhood friends navigating the trials and tribulations of growing up. I was immediately drawn into Shun'ichi's world, and I found myself invested in his journey right from the start. The age progression aspect intrigued me, and I was curious to see how the characters' relationships would evolve over time.
What Works Well
The novel's strength, in my opinion, lies in its ability to evoke strong emotions. Chapter two, in particular, was a rollercoaster. The raw and unflinching portrayal of Shun'ichi's hardships was incredibly impactful, and I found myself completely engrossed in his experiences.
