Description
In order to preserve his demonic power, Xie Zuo, the demon king sealed in the abyss, seduced Huo Yao, the Great Thunder Deity who was guarding him. However, the demon egg unexpectedly inherited the attributes of thunder and lightning, crackling with electricity since birth, making it impossible for him to eat. Frustrated, Xie Zuo, angered by the situation, gathered his strength to prepare for creating another egg. When heavenly punishment struck, Xie Zuo, half dead from lightning, decided to endure the pain and eat the demon egg. To his shock and anger, he discovered that the demon egg had been stolen! Lucky to survive the heavenly punishment and near death, Xie Zuo declared, “I will catch the egg-stealing thief, even if I have to search through heaven and earth!”

"Who Stole My Eggs?" certainly boasts a title that grabs your attention, promising a whimsical adventure. However, going in, I was immediately curious about the actual presence of the eggs, given some early reader reactions. This novel is quite a ride, blending xianxia, comedy, drama, and romance into a unique package.
First Impressions
I dove into this novel expecting a central plot revolving around, well, stolen eggs. It seems the titular eggs take a backseat for a good portion of the story, making their grand appearance much later. This initially felt a bit misleading, but I quickly found myself engrossed in the unfolding narrative regardless. I found the early arcs to be a little unfocused, but not in a way that ruined my enjoyment.
What Works Well
The relationship between the MC and ML is undeniably the heart of this story. Watching their bond evolve through various trials and tribulations is genuinely satisfying. The author does a great job of creating a "bickering couple" dynamic that's both humorous and heartwarming. Beyond the central romance, the side characters add a lot to the overall experience. I especially enjoyed the found family aspects and the comedic relief provided by the side pairings. I think the author does a good job of keeping the tone relatively lighthearted, even amidst heavier plot points, making it an easy and enjoyable read.
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed the overall experience, I can see where some readers might find the plot a bit meandering at times. The focus definitely leans more towards character development and relationship dynamics than a tightly woven plot. Also, I can see where some might find the MC, Xie Zao, a bit frustrating at times due to his, at times, oblivious nature.
