The initial premise is intriguing: a protagonist, Mo Yang, on the run from the law, stumbles upon a guide from the "Dream World" promising him everything he desires. This setup immediately pulled me in, and I was eager to see where the story would go. I quickly realized that the world is split evenly between the real world and the dream world.
What Works Well
The characters are a major highlight. Mo Yang, the initially reluctant hero, and Wan Wei, the mad scientist love interest, have fantastic chemistry. Their interactions are often hilarious, and I appreciated how the author developed their relationship early on without unnecessary drama. The comedic elements are sprinkled perfectly between darker moments, making the story less depressing. I have to give a shoutout to the guides, 006 and 009, who are just the right amount of funny. The arcs are also engaging and varied, exploring themes of greed, justice, and human nature.
