Honestly, the premise had potential. A supernatural academy setting with a protagonist hiding immense power? I'm generally a sucker for that trope. The initial chapters did a decent job of setting up the world and introducing the core cast. However, I quickly noticed some issues that kept nagging at me as I read on.

It wasn't all bad. The action sequences, when they happened, were fairly well-written and engaging. The author clearly has a knack for describing combat and supernatural abilities. There are some glimpses of a potentially interesting overarching plot, hinting at deeper conspiracies within the academy. Also, the author does attempt to build a world with unique supernatural elements.

Unfortunately, the negatives outweigh the positives. The biggest issue, in my opinion, is the protagonist. He's supposed to be this cunning, Machiavellian mastermind, but it often comes across as forced and, dare I say, cringeworthy. His internal monologues are filled with attempts to sound edgy, but they often fall flat. I also struggled to connect with the supporting characters. They felt more like caricatures of common tropes than fully fleshed-out individuals. The "innocent justice girl" falling instantly for the MC felt rushed and unearned. The story also seems to borrow heavily from other popular series, leading to a sense of déjà vu.
