Tensei Reijou wa Yancha Suru Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator
My Thoughts on Tensei Reijou wa Yancha Suru
"Tensei Reijou wa Yancha Suru" is a light and fluffy read that I found quite enjoyable, despite a few quirks. It's the kind of story you pick up when you want something easy and fun, without a lot of heavy plot or angst. While it might not be groundbreaking, it delivers on its promise of a comedic, slice-of-life adventure in a fantasy world.
First Impressions
Initially, the story felt a little slow. The early chapters are primarily short monologues from the MC's perspective, which makes for a quick read, but it took a few chapters for the plot to really pick up. However, once I got to around chapter six, I found myself getting invested in the characters and their interactions.
What Works Well
The biggest draw of this novel is definitely the MC. She's a reincarnated noble daughter who, despite remembering her past life, still acts very much like a child. This isn't a case of a mature adult trapped in a child's body; instead, it's more like her past life memories are influencing her, but not fundamentally changing her personality. She's childish, gullible, and often manipulated by her older brother and the prince with the promise of sweets, which leads to some hilarious situations.
I also appreciated the unique magic system. The MC's past life as an otaku gives her a vivid imagination, allowing her to create magic that's never been seen before, like flying or creating a whip from a flower. The interactions between the MC, her attendant Theo, her brother, and the prince are also a highlight. Theo, in particular, seems to be constantly dragged into their schemes and experiments, and I can't help but feel a little sorry for him!
Areas of Concern
One minor issue I have is with the tags. The story is tagged as having "villainous noble girl" and "otome game" elements, but as the story progresses these tags seem less and less relevant. The MC shows no signs of being a villainess, and there's no indication that she's living in an otome game world. This isn't a huge problem, but it could be misleading for potential readers.
Final Verdict
Overall, I'd recommend "Tensei Reijou wa Yancha Suru" if you're looking for a light-hearted, fluffy story with a fun MC and plenty of comedic moments. Just don't expect a deep or complex plot. It's a simple slice-of-life adventure that's perfect for a quick and enjoyable read.
