I was eager to dive in and see how their story unfolded, especially given the tags suggesting a "cold love interest" and "mute character," which hinted at unique character dynamics.
What Works Well
The emotional depth of this story is definitely its strongest point. I found myself completely invested in the relationship between the princess and her bodyguard. The author does a fantastic job of portraying the challenges they face, not just from their own personal struggles, but also from the rigid societal constraints of their world. The political intrigue adds another layer of complexity, making their love feel even more precious and hard-won. The story is relatively short and it really packs an emotional punch. I was left feeling satisfied and moved by the ending.
