"Song Yuzhang" has been quite the ride! This novel plunges you into the Republican era of China with a protagonist who's as cunning as he is captivating. I found myself completely drawn into Song Yuzhang's world, filled with high society, business intrigue, and a whole lot of romantic entanglement.

First Impressions

Initially, the harem tag gave me pause, as I usually prefer focused romances. However, I decided to dive in, and I'm glad I did. The setting is richly detailed, immediately immersing you in the early 1900s with its unique social dynamics and technologies. Song Yuzhang himself is an absolute charmer. He's a master manipulator, and watching him navigate Haizhou's elite is endlessly entertaining.
