Description
As a psychology assistant, Tao Yu took on a case rejected by her supervisor, unwittingly embarking on a journey through the fragmented mindscapes of business tycoon Yue Linze. Her mission: to mend the psychological flaws of his multiple personalities. World 1: The CEO and His Little Doctor Boss: “You’ve only lost love, but I’ve lost a leg!” Tao Yu: “…Your right leg is just slightly uncomfortable.” Boss: “Oh, you don’t love me? Then I don’t need this leg anymore.” Tao Yu: “Love! Love! Love!” World 2: The Prison Boss and the Rookie Guard Boss: “Do you like me?” Tao Yu: “No.” Boss: “Alright, I’m breaking out.” Tao Yu: “….” World 3: The Noble Lady and Her Pampered Servant Tao Yu: “I just want you to read more books and become an outstanding successor to socialism.” Servant: “No, I just want to serve you… in bed.” World 4: The Wealthy Housewife and Her… Husbands? Yue Lin: “Strictly speaking, I’m Tao Yu’s husband. The wedding was just interrupted by a certain scoundrel.” Yue Ze: “Sorry, first come, first served.” Tao Yu: “…I never imagined the big boss in this world would be twins. Identical twin brothers, at that.” World 5: The City Lord’s Wife and Her Not-So-Innocent City Lord Yue Linze: “All I want in this life is to lay down my sword and attain peace. A sweet, innocent life.” Tao Yu: “…Could you please put down the sword at my throat first?” Other doctors did brain work; why was hers so physical? The constant backaches, sore legs, and leg cramps were killing her!

My Thoughts on Sick Petty Guy Please Let Go
"Sick Petty Guy Please Let Go" is quite the rollercoaster, a psychological deep dive wrapped in a transmigration romance. Did I enjoy the ride? Parts of it, absolutely. Was I occasionally squirming in my seat? Also yes. This novel definitely isn't for the faint of heart, but if you're looking for something different, it might just scratch that itch.
First Impressions
Going in, I expected a quirky romance with some psychological elements. What I found was a far more complex and, at times, unsettling story. The premise of a psychologist entering the dream worlds of a patient with multiple sub-personalities immediately hooked me. I was ready for some mind-bending scenarios and emotional turmoil.
What Works Well
The world-hopping aspect is undeniably creative. Each illusionary world felt distinct, with its own unique rules and conflicts. I appreciated how the author explored different facets of the male lead's fractured psyche through these scenarios. It's also really interesting how the female lead has to try and resolve the conflicts in each to help the main personality heal. The romance, though twisted, definitely has its moments. The male lead, despite his flaws, is compelling, and I found myself rooting for him to overcome his inner demons. Plus, the comedic undertones sprinkled throughout helped to lighten the mood when things got too intense.
Areas of Concern
Okay, let's be real, this novel has some issues. The female lead, while supposedly intelligent, sometimes makes unbelievably dense decisions. There were moments when I questioned her competence as a psychologist. Also, the male lead's actions can be downright disturbing. He is a diagnosed psychopath, after all, and the story doesn't shy away from exploring the darker aspects of his personality. It's a fine line between "brooding anti-hero" and "walking red flag," and this novel occasionally crosses it. I also found the "comedy" to be a bit hit-or-miss. A lot of it relies on the female lead being embarrassing, and it didn't always land for me.

Final Verdict
"Sick Petty Guy Please Let Go" is a flawed but fascinating novel. The unique premise, engaging world-hopping, and complex characters kept me hooked, despite the problematic elements. It's definitely not a perfect story, and it won't appeal to everyone. However, if you're looking for something that pushes boundaries and isn't afraid to explore uncomfortable themes, it might be worth checking out. Just be prepared for a wild ride!
