First Impressions
Going in, I was intrigued by the premise: a female protagonist seeking vengeance in a modern-day setting, complete with wealthy characters, doctors, and a hint of yandere. The initial chapters hooked me with the promise of a calculated and cold-blooded MC ready to take down those who wronged her. However, as I delved deeper, the cracks in the foundation began to show.
What Works Well
The FL is a refreshing breath of air. I enjoyed her personality – she's smart, cold-blooded, and even a little crazy, which made her a compelling character to follow. The plot is packed with twists and turns, keeping you on your toes, even if those turns sometimes felt a little predictable. The initial setup, with the promise of a strong female lead seeking retribution, is definitely a strong point.
Areas of Concern
The biggest issue I encountered was the weak revenge plot. Despite promising to stay away from the ML, the FL spends a significant amount of time entangled with him, blurring the lines of her vengeance. The "pull and push" dynamic between the leads, while initially engaging, becomes repetitive and frustrating. The ML is a classic overbearing president type, and while some might find that appealing, I found his character somewhat lacking in depth. I also felt that the side characters lacked development, and the villains seemed to have an uncanny ability to avoid permanent consequences.
