My Thoughts on Scattered Immortal

Scattered Immortal is a web novel that I approached with a healthy dose of curiosity, given its "OP MC" tag and xianxia genre. After diving in, I can say it was a mixed bag, delivering some satisfying power fantasy moments but ultimately stumbling in its execution, particularly towards the end.

The initial chapters had me hooked with their blend of romance and cultivation. The premise of a powerful figure navigating a seemingly ordinary life was intriguing. It promised a fun ride of face-slapping and escalating conflicts, which, for a while, it delivered. However, the early lightheartedness quickly shifts gears into a more serious tone.

Additionally, the harem aspect feels tacked on and underdeveloped, lacking genuine emotional depth. The romance, initially promising, fades into the background as the story progresses.
