First Impressions

Initially, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to stick with it. The premise – a beta MC waking up with amnesia and an alpha husband he doesn't remember – felt a little tropey. Plus, the MC, Xia Wennan, comes across as quite brash and even a bit rude in the early chapters. He's understandably freaked out, but his interactions with the ML, Ming Luchuan, can be pretty harsh.

What Works Well

Despite my initial reservations, the story really grabbed me. Xia Wennan's character, though flawed, is incredibly vivid. His youthful temperament and nosy nature make him compelling, and I enjoyed watching him piece together his lost memories. The dynamic between him and the stoic, often irritable Ming Luchuan is fantastic. Their bickering is laced with dry humor, and as their relationship develops, you can really feel the love beneath the surface.

The mystery surrounding Xia Wennan's car accident is also well-paced. The author does a great job of doling out clues and keeping you guessing. If I had to nitpick, I'd say that Xia Wennan's initial behavior might be a turn-off for some readers. He can be quite cutting, and it takes a while for him to grow and become more empathetic. Also, the ending felt a tad abrupt, leaving me wanting a bit more closure with some of the side characters.
