First Impressions
The initial chapters hooked me immediately. The premise of a woman transmigrating into a novel and raising a reborn villain as her own child was intriguing, and the early focus on their relationship was incredibly endearing. I appreciated that the female lead, instead of diving headfirst into the entertainment industry or seeking revenge, chose a simpler life as a florist. It felt refreshing.
What Works Well
The absolute heart of this novel is the characterization of the son, Wen Wen. He's not just a plot device or a mini-adult, but a genuinely believable child grappling with the memories of his past life. His internal conflict, his desire for love clashing with his fear of abandonment, was incredibly well-written. The way he slowly allows himself to embrace his childhood and the love of his new family was heartwarming to witness. I also enjoyed the slice-of-life elements, particularly the supportive community and the focus on the day-to-day life of a mother and son. The male lead, while sometimes overbearing, was generally a good guy who genuinely cared for both the MC and Wen Wen.
Areas of Concern
The romance, while present, felt somewhat lukewarm. I didn't quite feel the chemistry between the leads, and their relationship progressed rather slowly. Some found the ML's initial actions manipulative. The ending also felt abrupt, and I would have loved to see more of Wen Wen's future and a more developed conclusion to the central romance.
