The writing style is elegant and easy to follow, which is a huge plus when dealing with complex historical settings and terminology. From the very beginning, I was eager to know more about Murong Qing and the challenges she would face.

The strength of this novel lies in its characters, particularly the female lead, Qing'er. She's a calm, clever, and rational woman who understands her political context, a refreshing departure from some of the more… exaggerated female leads I've encountered. He's a complex character with a dark past, and his actions sometimes cause considerable pain to Qing'er.
