Going into this, I was immediately intrigued by the premise. A transmigration story with mechas and a slave contract? Sounds wild! The initial chapters definitely set a tone of intrigue and tension, especially regarding the relationship between the MC and ML. It's a far cry from your typical sweet romance setup, which grabbed my attention.

What Works Well

One of the strongest aspects of Mecha Save Contract* is the world-building. The author creates a detailed interstellar society with its own unique conflicts and technologies. I particularly enjoyed the focus on mecha construction, which felt fresh compared to other novels in the genre. The MC's journey from zero to skilled mecha maker is genuinely inspiring. I also appreciated the well-developed side characters, who added depth and complexity to the story. I found myself invested in their lives and relationships as well. There is also the AI, 125, who many readers seemed to love and find endearing.

Areas of Concern

However, I can't ignore the criticisms surrounding the ML's character. The relationship between the MC and ML is a major point of contention. I can see how some readers might find his behavior problematic, especially in the early chapters. While the author attempts to portray him as a tsundere, his actions sometimes cross the line into abusive territory. I also noticed that the plot can feel a bit repetitive at times, especially during the MC's training arcs. The power-ups can also feel a bit too convenient, diminishing the sense of suspense.
