My Thoughts on Made by God

"Made by God" promised a unique blend of interstellar action, mecha battles, and xianxia cultivation, and for the most part, it delivered a wild ride. I was intrigued by the premise of a blacksmith from a cultivation world transmigrating into a futuristic setting, and it didn't disappoint in terms of originality. The story's unpredictable nature kept me hooked, even when it veered into unexpected territories.

First Impressions

Initially, I was drawn in by the author's creative world-building. The integration of cultivation techniques with mecha technology felt seamless and refreshing. I particularly enjoyed the early chapters, where the protagonist, Qi Ze, navigates his new environment and establishes himself as a force to be reckoned with. His "badass" personality and morally grey approach to problem-solving were a welcome change from more typical, forgiving protagonists.

What Works Well

The characterizations are a strong point. Qi Ze is an OP main character, yet his vulnerabilities and strategic mind made him relatable. Many will appreciate how the author provides enough background information and logical reasons to keep every situation believable. The blend of genres is also very well done, creating a story that doesn't feel awkward or forced. The romance, although slow-burn, develops naturally within the narrative.

Areas of Concern

While I enjoyed the overall story, I did find some aspects less compelling. The male lead, Yan Junyu, can be a bit of a "nanny" character, which might annoy some readers. The plot also seems to lose some focus after the first half, with some plot threads feeling rushed or unresolved by the end. The sudden introduction of zombies and apocalyptic elements felt a little out of place. The love development can feel forced and cheesy at times.
