My Thoughts on Loved by Her Sister’s Former Fiancée
"Loved by Her Sister’s Former Fiancée" promised a blend of comedy, fantasy, and romance with a dash of nobility intrigue, and so far, it's proving to be quite the ride. While the initial chapters threw me for a loop, the potential for a compelling character arc and a satisfying romance is definitely there.
First Impressions
Okay, the beginning is rough. We're thrown into a situation where the MC, Mary, is essentially being pawned off to her deceased sister's fiancé. Her family is… well, "trash" is putting it mildly. The blatant neglect and emotional abuse Mary endures are genuinely disturbing. It's clear from the get-go that this is a story about a woman learning to value herself after a lifetime of being told she's worthless.
What Works Well
The core concept is intriguing. The "misunderstanding" trope, where the male lead, Anastasia, initially fell for Mary due to a case of mistaken identity, adds a layer of complexity. I appreciate that the male lead isn't portrayed as a typical "brutal woman hater." Instead, he's somewhat socially awkward but genuinely interested in Mary's intellect and kindness. He recognizes the abuse she's suffered and actively tries to help her, which is a refreshing change of pace. I also like that Mary isn't a pushover. Despite her low self-esteem, she demonstrates moments of quick thinking and quiet strength. Her acceptance of the bath and willingness to learn is a good sign for her personal growth.
Areas of Concern
The male lead's actions do border on delusional at times. His assumption that Mary would willingly marry him based on a single conversation, without considering her family's influence, feels a bit naive. I also wish there was more direct communication between them early on. It would help to clear some of the obvious misunderstandings.

Final Verdict
Despite some initial reservations, I'm cautiously optimistic about "Loved by Her Sister’s Former Fiancée." The story has a lot of potential, particularly in Mary's journey toward self-acceptance and the development of her relationship with Anastasia. If you can stomach the heavy subject matter in the beginning and appreciate a slightly quirky male lead, this could be a rewarding read.
