Description

Alright, let's dive into "Leviathan of the Covenant." I've spent some time with this story, and I've got some thoughts I want to share. Overall, it's an enjoyable read, but like any story, it has its strengths and weaknesses.
First Impressions
The tags pretty much tell you what you're getting into right off the bat: action, comedy, ecchi, fantasy, harem, romance, and seinen. It's a real mixed bag, and whether that appeals to you will depend on your tastes. I was initially drawn in by the dragon rider and slayer aspects, and I wasn't disappointed.
What Works Well
One of the strongest aspects of this novel is the MC's growth. He starts out fairly dense, but I appreciate that he evolves as the story progresses. His relationships with the harem members aren't static either. They change and develop, leading to some genuinely funny moments. The author avoids the typical harem tropes, which is a breath of fresh air. I also like that the MC isn't just a powerhouse fighter. He's more of a support character, and his intelligence and ability to strategize are just as important as his powers. Seeing him outsmart enemies he can't beat in a straight fight is genuinely satisfying. The pacing of his power progression feels natural and earned.
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed the story overall, there are a few areas that could be improved. The MC can come across as a bit bland at times, and his density can be frustrating. However, these aspects do seem to lessen as the story goes on. I also felt that some of the interactions between the MC and other characters lacked a certain spark. It's not a deal-breaker, but it did detract from my enjoyment at times.
