"Kisses Make Me Grow Taller" is a completed original web novel in the mecha, romance, and sci-fi genres. I went into this novel expecting a lighthearted, fluffy read, and while it mostly delivered on that promise, there were a few things that kept it from being a complete slam dunk for me.

First Impressions

The premise is certainly unique: a genius MC who grows taller with every kiss from his cold but devoted ML. The comedic undertones were immediately apparent, with the MC's misguided attempts to act "manly" providing some early chuckles. I was definitely intrigued by the futuristic setting and the whole genetic modification aspect.

The fluff factor is undeniably high. Many readers, including myself, found the interactions between Bai Rong (MC) and Mu Chongyan (ML) to be incredibly sweet and endearing. Mu Chongyan, despite his initial coldness, is a doting and devoted love interest, creating a satisfying dynamic. The author does a decent job establishing the world and slowly building the romance.

The running gag of the MC's "manly man" persona wears thin after a while, and I can see how some might find it annoying.
