First Impressions
Initially, I was hooked by the unique premise of a game designer getting pulled into a series of survival games. The early arcs were exciting, and I found myself eagerly anticipating each new chapter. The concept of these "worlds" or tasks was pretty interesting, and I was curious to see how the MC, Xia Ruize, would adapt.
What Works Well
One of the strongest aspects of this novel is its unique "worlds." Each arc presents a different survival scenario, from battling barbarians to navigating a bloody battle royale. I particularly enjoyed how the MC's skills developed over time. He wasn't immediately overpowered; instead, he gradually grew stronger and more capable, which made his progress feel earned. The relationship between the MC and ML, Cheng Huaiqian, was also a highlight for me. They worked well together, and their dynamic was engaging, even if some found the romance a bit rushed.
Areas of Concern
As I progressed through the story, I did find some aspects less appealing. The pacing felt uneven at times, with some arcs dragging on longer than necessary. The "extended quests," while initially exciting, became predictable and lost their impact after a while. I also felt the character development could have been stronger.
