This novel certainly took me on a wild ride. I went in expecting a fun, maybe a little raunchy, gender-bender story, and while it delivered on some of that, it also threw in some unexpected and, frankly, disturbing elements. It's a complex mix of genres and themes that definitely won't be for everyone.
First Impressions
Initially, I was intrigued by the premise. The idea of waking up as a female swordsman tasked with protecting your cousin has a certain comedic appeal. The early chapters definitely leaned into that, setting up a potentially lighthearted and entertaining story.
What Works Well
The author clearly has a knack for writing. The prose flowed well, and the character interactions, outside of some questionable scenes, were engaging. I can see why some readers found the plot compelling, even if it wasn't perfect. The "ero" aspect, if that's your thing, seems to be a major draw for some, and the author doesn't shy away from exploring those themes.
