While the overall rating sits at a somewhat lukewarm 3.3/5, I always believe in forming my own opinion.
First Impressions
Initially, I was drawn in by the potential for comedic fantasy. The idea of a character based on the creepy "Mary-san" legend navigating a new world filled with game elements and a level system seemed like a recipe for quirky fun. The tags suggested a lighthearted adventure with a female protagonist, which is usually right up my alley.
What Works Well
The blend of comedy and fantasy is where this novel shines when it works. The concept is inherently funny, and I can see the appeal of a character adapted from a horror story finding herself in ridiculous situations in another world.
