The initial setup is compelling: a sickly prince forced to cross-dress and marry his country's enemy to prevent war. The MC, despite his fragile health, is surprisingly resourceful and quick-witted, constantly dodging exposure. It's a classic enemies-to-lovers trope with a unique twist, and I was immediately invested in seeing how he'd navigate this precarious situation.
What Works Well
The early romance is definitely a highlight. Watching the ML fall for the MC, completely unaware of his true gender, creates some hilarious and heartwarming moments. The dynamic between the two is engaging, even if the ML's initial brashness can be a bit off-putting. I also appreciated the lightheartedness of the royal family; their bickering felt more like a modern family than a stuffy court, which added a touch of humor to the story.
