I went into this novel hoping for a thrilling survival story, and while I found some aspects engaging, others left me wanting. The premise itself is intriguing – a disaster limited to a specific geographical location, forcing humanity to adapt and evolve.

Initially, I was drawn in by the idea of a protagonist who isn't overpowered, someone who has to genuinely struggle to survive. This felt like a refreshing change from the typical power fantasy.
